John Goodman as Rupert Thorne by MZimmer1985 John Goodman as Rupert Thorne by MZimmer1985
Rupert Thorne [Height: 5' 10", Age: 60's]: Rupert Thorne was an influential city councilman from Gotham City. During an incident involving the disfigured scientist "Alex Sartorius" (Doctor Phosphorus), Thorne turned his attention on Batman. He vocally decried the efforts of the Dark Knight Detective, as well as lobbied to have his vigilante tactics outlawed.

John Goodman [Height: 6' 2"; Age: 64; Notable Works: Roseanne, The Big Lebowski, 10 Cloverfield Lane]: I can't help it. John Goodman is just good at playing villains, even if I thought about breaking the mold and cast him as good guy. And this was the second star of this weekend's Kong: Skull Island I got to cast. His work as Howard T. Erickson in the forth season of Damages is proof how he can play a corrupt official. And even though this cast is for my own DC cinematic universe, what's to stop him from reuniting with Argo star Ben Affleck to play the role in the DCEU? I see Rupert Thorne in my fictional Batman movie series borrow a little bit from the 90's animated series where he would be the prominent mob boss of Gotham and go tit-for-tat with Harvey Dent to the point he causes the district attorney to become disfigured. But he'll also have the backstory from the comics where he also runs for mayor in order to control Gotham as a legitimate elected official while running Gotham's criminal underworld. It's so juicy, and Goodman would rock the role perfectly.

I search up "Ben 10" on this site and for some reason this is in the search results even though it's not related to Ben 10. What the hell? I guess it's because of "10 Cloverfield Lane" and "Ben Affleck" in the description, which is stupid. Oh well, since that I'm in the Ben 10 mood, John Goodman could be a great choice as Max Tennyson in a live-action Ben 10 film, if not the best choice for the character.

There's a lot of characters that John Goodman would be great for. Goes to show for one of the many reasons as to why he's such a favorite actor of mine.

Sounds reasonable, even though I haven't watched all of Ben 10. But what do you think of him as Rupert Thorne?

Seems interesting. I'm not really a big fan of DC and thus don't know a lot about the lore. Seems like he would be fitting for this character though. Then again, John Goodman would be fitting for a lot of different type of characters because he's so flexible with his acting due to all the roles that he portrayed in his career. He's done great portraying villains. He's done great portraying goofy characters. He's done great portraying some pretty serious characters. There's a lot of variety with what's he's capable of doing. Going back to Ben 10, John Goodman really would be the best choice to portray Max Tennyson. Not only does he really nail the look of the character down but he can fit very well with someone that is like Max. So yeah, he seems quite fitting for Rupert Thorne in both looks and just the type of character that Thorne is that Goodman can be quite fitting to act in. So yeah, good choice right there.
